So you’re getting ready to leave for university and you’re panicking about what to take! Have a read through the lists below and make sure you have everything; from bed sheets to memory sticks, we’ll make sure you won’t forget a thing.
What To Take To Uni – Kitchen Goods
You’re moving away from home and having to cook for yourself every night, so make sure you’ve got all of the kitchen essentials you will need so you’re never caught short in the kitchen:

- Casserole/oven dish
- Wooden spoons
- Spatula
- Whisk
- Set of tongs

- Cheese grater
- Vegetable peeler

What To Take To Uni – Basic Food Ingredients
Getting basic ingredients stocked up is always a good idea when you first move into halls, that way you just need to get bits and bobs instead of having to do a big shop without a car:
- Cooking oil
- Salt & pepper
- Herbs & spices
- Sugar
- Condiments — ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard etc.
- Tea & coffee
- Tinned goods — beans, soup, pasta sauce etc.
- Jars — pasta sauce, curry sauce, marmalade, chocolate spread etc.
- Squash
- Dry food – Pasta, rice, noodles etc.
What To Take To Uni – Bedroom Items
You’ll be moving into a blank canvas, so make sure you’ve got everything ready to make it feel like home:

What To Take To Uni – PC Accessories & Electricals
Some universities have certain rules about electrical goods, so check what you are allowed to take to halls before you pack:

- Portable hard drive — one with a large memory in case anything happens to your laptop
- iPod/MP3
- Speakers

- Chargers — for laptop, phone etc.

What To Take To Uni – Bathroom Items
Whether you have a shared bathroom or ensuite, you’ll want to make sure you have certain necessities:

- Shower items — shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc.
- Toilet brush
- Toilet bleach
- Hand soap
- First aid kit — painkillers, plasters, cold and flu tablets, antiseptic cream etc.
- Beauty products — makeup, face wash, hair care etc
What To Take To Uni – Miscellaneous
Some items you’ll need, some you won’t:
- Holdall – weekend bag for trips home
- Sewing kit
- Books/novels – for those quiet nights in!
- CV – Just incase you’re looking for work
